Help with t56

Ok after some searchign I have found a used t56 that is supposed to work for 700 bucks, about 2 hours from home.havnt checked it out yet, darn work and school.

Now the thing is it looks like all the little parts will kill me checked some places and the prices are a bit steep for me,I'm just lookign at OEM as they should be ok for my powerlevel I would think.

clutch is 250,pressure plate is 180[130 for core,I dont have]flywheel 150[about]
plus master, and slave cylinder[unless the 7s stock ones will work]and I dont know what year my engien is,Its probly not an lt1 so that would meen I would need an adapter right?how much is that?

why the hell couldn't Borgwarner make a Manual tranny with overdrive that was affordable and not a piece of junk?I mean the old 4spds were supposed to be tough,so why couldn't they have a tranny like that but jsut with an overdrive gear?

One more question how do find out the year and model of the engine?
thanks

ditto...

What the heck are you asking anyhow?

T-56 come with different output shafts/bellhousings - LT1 version, LSx are both different for instance.

Never mind I got there to late.

Never mind I got there to late, already sold.

I guess I should have been more clear,I wanted to know if the stock clutch, pressure plate etc was good enough for a 350 hp[tops]v8,or if I needed to use a higher grade.and I thought I heard the t56 didn't line up with the shifter hole without some modding.

Thanks.

t56 should work, but you have to get a LT1 t56 for it to mate to your engine, unless there is a conversion for that somewhere
