As it states,I am wondering if the Driveshaft from an Ford Auto trans will fit a Ford T5.
Also if they are the same length.

(this is the one time I am lazy and can't get to the parts to compare..sorry guys!)

 

The part your talking about is called a Yoke, C4,AOD,T5 all share the same yoke, 28 splines, however they make different strengths and different yokes based on what type of U-joint you are going to run. In most cases you run a stronger u-joint in the front than the rear. For example front Yoke you may want a 1350 and the rear use a 1330 or 1310. Driveshaft lengths are different.

 

Well the shaft needs to be modified to fit anyways as it is now a T5 into a FC.
The car had an Auto OD in it so it was cut to fit the car.

The yokes are a little different in length looking at them,But I wanted to use the T5 shaft as I left the other drive shaft on the floor of the portable garage,thinking i didn't need it anyways,and it got water on the input shaft(yoke) so it looks kinda crusty..(eww!)...

I may just switch yokes on the shorter shaft(which is what I need anyways).
The ONLY thing I am worried about is that the "weld and cut modification" looks half assed so I am going to take it to a Driveline shop to get it checked out and balanced if need be.

* the auto yoke seems to have a big counterweight ring on it and the manual yoke..well..just looks like a normal fork type yoke.

 

Factory AOD output yokes sometimes have the big ring of material with an elastomer in it (just like a dampner) for NVH. You can run it or replace it with a unit that does not have it. Some guys think they can cause problems if the elastomer gets old and dries out.

All the Mustangs with T5/AOD used the same length driveshaft. If memory serves they are 45.5" long center to center at the U-joints.
