Differences between Corvette LS1s by year?
somebody break it down for me. i have been reading on the ls1 sights and it seems as though any difference between the engines is minor. is this true? are some of the blocks more durable? are the intakes better?
thanks,
josh

Being a chevy guy, I can say that the differences in model year as pertaining to the ls1 engine are negligable, at best. Minor alterations were made in design of accessories, but that is really it. Notible differences come when compairing ls1's to ls6's.
i had read that one of the differences in the blocks pre '01 had something to do with cylinder wall thickness, and that was why the '01 block was the preferred way to go. . . i guess it all depends on HOW MUCH of a fast car you want.

Generic info for the Corvette. And yes, it's common opinion that 2001-up motors are the ones to look for. The F-body got the LS6 (Corvette) intake but the cam specs were scaled back a bit. Most people change the cam anyway. Torquecentral has a bunch of info on this topic if you want to check it out.
