Diag tool for LS Swap: Tech 2 Clone vs. Autel for GM J2534 flashing?

"Hey guys, almost wrapped up with the wiring on my LS swap, but I'm chasing a few gremlins. I have HP Tuners for the actual mapping/VATS delete, but I feel blind when it comes to actual diagnostics (checking misfire counts per cylinder, cam retard offset, etc.).

I need something that can do active tests (bi-directional) so I can manually command the cooling fans and fuel pump relay to verify my harness wiring without the engine running.

I was looking at picking up a Tech 2 clone, but I'm worried about the reliability. I’ve been reading up on the Autel Elite II Pro because it comes with the J2534 box. My thinking is I could use the J2534 to flash stock GM operating systems if I ever swap PCMs, plus it’s faster than the Tech 2 for live data.

Has anyone here used the J2534 pass-thru on the Elite II with GM SPS? I want to make sure it plays nice with the P01/P59 computers before I drop the coin. Or is there a better option for advanced diag on these swapped setups?"
