Yes, they will fit in a 2nd gen. LT1 and LS1 engines are preferred as they do not have the huge distributor in the rear which means you can set the engine back closer to the firewall. There are several old school 350 powered RX-7s around. You might want to consider finding a really low profile intake manifold to ensure you have room for the hood to close without cutting it.

As far as power output goes, that's an unknown as with 30k miles that engine has been rebuilt - probably a little bit hotter than stock. I would guess the power output would be in the mid 200HP mark, but with the correct camshaft, headers and supporting modifications you can make some decent power with it.

Being in CA I'd get your car smogged before doing the swap. It can be a PITA to get it to pass later if at all.

Slap in a new camshaft/lifters while the engine is out for a big jump in power over stock and make sure you use an overdrive transmission when finally installing it.

A TH350/TH400 with 1:1 final gear will not like the 4:10's out back no matter how tall the tire. Your car will be buzzing at 4,000 going 65mph. Not good for fuel economy or engine longevity.

A TH700R4, TH200-4R, or 4L60E are good overdrive transmissions.

If you want some ?'s answered check out the V8RX7 forum on TorqueCentral.com
Do a search before asking easily found answers to your questions.
