After reading the threads that you've made, I'm somewhat surprised with a response like this, as you seem to have an endless list of negatives for Grant at GSS...
I don't know, I'm just curious. I'm somewhat paranoid of both of them now, and I'm not sure what to believe after reading your experiences.

What a way to bump a thread..

If I were you, I'd do some more research about his "current" business ethic, I'm one of the many satisfied customers and I'd recommend Granny's to anyone.

BTW, here we go again..

Grant's parts don't fall apart that I've ever heard of, and they're a reasonably good value, with the exception of the fitment of the FD LT1/SBC cradle (compromised mounts, requires shims to clear hood, etc.) and LS1 cradle (same LT1/SBC cradle with adapters) which requires cutting or replacing the stock hood.

There's no real reason not to go to Grant for 1st or 2nd gen. conversion parts, except that they may not be shipped as rapidly as one might hope, your order may be incomplete, and you may be told that it has shipped when it hasn't.

Hinson, on the other hand, has turned out a couple "turn-key" cars that required a hell of a lot of work afterward (see posts by 2MCHPWR on TC for examples), and has a bad track record for quality control... and for sweeping the problems under the rug whenever possible (like blaming the weld failures on "hired help" that no longer works for them). In my opinion, he overcharges for what you're receiving, especially considering that you're sacrificing a core engine cradle as part of the deal.

He's also been caught in some shadiness in the past, having created a fake "satisfied customer" account on TC to post rave reviews of his shop and services. And finally, Lane and Brian also seem to have trouble counting the number of conversion parts they've built, reporting varying numbers far higher than what the number of LS1 projects in progress (even with a large margin of error) support... unless they're counting every individual washer and nut in the bump steer kits.

That's why I call Grant the lesser of two evils and do direct people to him occasionally despite what he did to me personally.

Why, because you bought an engine cradle from him and it actually showed up? What did you decide to do about a hood, since the engine won't even fit under your aftermarket hood, if I recall?

I hate to break it to you, but your opinion is worth about as much as your technical advice... which is usually full of errors.

Showed up perfectly on time, actually.

The hood has been modified.

Too bad, I couldn't really care less about what you think about my advice. At least I have something to show for my technical advice that is "usually full of errors" and that is a running LS1 FD - what good is your advice if you have nothing to show for it?

I rather just not get into it with you, it'll just turn into a Jimlab name calling fest. Goodnight there, Jimmy.

But others should. Your sole qualification for recommending Granny's is that you bought something and it showed up.

You have no fabrication experience, you haven't seen the products of any other vendors, and you've repeatedly had to rely on the technical knowledge of others to progress on your own swap. How could you possibly be qualified to tell anyone that Grant's product is superior?

If you want to make yourself look stupid, that's fine with me. I think we both know who has far more knowledge on the subject.

I rather just not get into it with you
Because you can't win. Smart boy.

Or how about, it showed up, fit perfectly fine and is doing great for street usage? Yep, that sounds about right..

I'm sure you know I have no fabrication experience because you know me personally, right? or do you think I have no fabrication exeperience because I decided to make my work easier and buy a pre-fabbed kit?

I have no interest in trying to "dignify" myself to you. According to you, I have no fabbing skills, cool, I'll let you think that.

BTW, IIRC, aren't you the one with the "ideas" and had a FABRICATOR do the work?

You have ideas, not fabrication skills.

Also, when did I say Grant's parts were superior? Whenever someone asks me about the kits and Granny's is brought up, I just say, "you won't be dissappointed with them." I never said, "Don't buy from Hinson! they suck!" I was actually ready to order from Hinson but they had a huge wait time during that period.

Granny's kit has worked for me and is doing a great at what it should.

I know you have more knowledge on this, I'm not going to deny that because it's true, but you have yet to have a running V8 RX7 - Great job, looks like you are putting all that knowledge into good use.

Because you can't win. Smart boy.
Of course I can't win against jimlab and no one else can for that matter. You are impossible to talk to without you turning this into a personal attack shitfest.
