I don't know, I'm just curious. I'm somewhat paranoid of both of them now, and I'm not sure what to believe after reading your experiences.

If I were you, I'd do some more research about his "current" business ethic, I'm one of the many satisfied customers and I'd recommend Granny's to anyone.
BTW, here we go again..

There's no real reason not to go to Grant for 1st or 2nd gen. conversion parts, except that they may not be shipped as rapidly as one might hope, your order may be incomplete, and you may be told that it has shipped when it hasn't.
Hinson, on the other hand, has turned out a couple "turn-key" cars that required a hell of a lot of work afterward (see posts by 2MCHPWR on TC for examples), and has a bad track record for quality control... and for sweeping the problems under the rug whenever possible (like blaming the weld failures on "hired help" that no longer works for them). In my opinion, he overcharges for what you're receiving, especially considering that you're sacrificing a core engine cradle as part of the deal.
He's also been caught in some shadiness in the past, having created a fake "satisfied customer" account on TC to post rave reviews of his shop and services. And finally, Lane and Brian also seem to have trouble counting the number of conversion parts they've built, reporting varying numbers far higher than what the number of LS1 projects in progress (even with a large margin of error) support... unless they're counting every individual washer and nut in the bump steer kits.
That's why I call Grant the lesser of two evils and do direct people to him occasionally despite what he did to me personally.

I hate to break it to you, but your opinion is worth about as much as your technical advice... which is usually full of errors.

The hood has been modified.

I rather just not get into it with you, it'll just turn into a Jimlab name calling fest. Goodnight there, Jimmy.

You have no fabrication experience, you haven't seen the products of any other vendors, and you've repeatedly had to rely on the technical knowledge of others to progress on your own swap. How could you possibly be qualified to tell anyone that Grant's product is superior?
At least I have something to show for my technical advice that is "usually full of errors" and that is a running LS1 FD - what good is your advice if you have nothing to show for it?
I rather just not get into it with you

I have no interest in trying to "dignify" myself to you. According to you, I have no fabbing skills, cool, I'll let you think that.
BTW, IIRC, aren't you the one with the "ideas" and had a FABRICATOR do the work?
You have ideas, not fabrication skills.
Also, when did I say Grant's parts were superior? Whenever someone asks me about the kits and Granny's is brought up, I just say, "you won't be dissappointed with them." I never said, "Don't buy from Hinson! they suck!" I was actually ready to order from Hinson but they had a huge wait time during that period.
Granny's kit has worked for me and is doing a great at what it should.
If you want to make yourself look stupid, that's fine with me. I think we both know who has far more knowledge on the subject.
Because you can't win. Smart boy.
