S4 N/A 15.3 first time out :)

its nothing to be proud about but it was faster than I was expecting, I figured I could have gotten into the 14s with a better launch, it was my first time going to the strip, this is untunned.

I have the timeslip in my car but its 4 hours away from me right now and no scanner heh, so here is the video of the run.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7hN5XoCaW34

the loud ******* car on the otherside is a b18 swapped civic with some boltons and some other crap

Nice, you give hope to us NA guys. Now all I need is a rebuild with stand alone and I can get below 15.4

N/As with open exhaust and CAI with emmisions removed should be in the 14s. With a standalone you should get low 14s.

I just read your mods list. You should be doing MUCH better then that. Try tuning your timing. You have a walbro which you shouldn't need on a streetport.

With a streetport properly tuned, you should see near 200hp with the right intake manifold and tuned exhaust.

crap, ment to post this in the subsection, oops heh. mods could ya move it?

but anyways yeah it was my first time at the strip so I wasn't sure what to expect that and the pizza cutter tires didnt help much for traction, that and I was afraid of breaking my diff or driveshaft if I launched too hard, and I needed it to drive back heh.

anyways I have an SAFCII and AEM UEGO, I haven't tuned it yet since I haven't had money or time for dyno.

and I still have about 85% of my emissions stuff, including rats nest.

No need for a dyno, a street tune will do for now.

Do you happen to remember what your 1/8 time was?

i don't think that's so bad given it's your first time. you should get some footage of your car in the daytime though.

yea really, i have never seen anyone do worse than their first time at the track, you can only stand to improve on that time just with some simple changes to your launch and shifting.

i ran a horrible 14.5 my first time at the track, boost was low and i din't notice it until my last run and i was getting horrible wheel hop.

next trip out i shaved 1 second off my time by fixing the boost level and airing down my tires.

next trip i should shave off at least another second by running drag radials, a better tune and tightening my blow off valve or disconnecting it. i can only be hopeful to be breaking into 11's if i can figure out a way of getting the 2 step to work with the methanol injection.

point is you learn each trip to the track what works and what doesn't and improve from there, some things help a hell of a lot more than others.

I would love to be in the 15s haha that sounds so pathetic. I ran a 16.8 best in my 100% stock porker S5 GXL. Now I have full exhaust, we'll see where that puts me. Maybe throw on a CAI and SAFCII tuned and I can be in the 15 second club

I wanna see if I can squeeze into the 14s before the turbo half of the project is underway heh.

dude I have the same thing... it takes about 10 minutes to tune with SAFC and UEGO.

Do some 3rd gear pulls on the street with nobody around. Lean it out up top a few percent and richen it slightly around 3-4000. you don't need to go to the dyno unless you want the #s.

My first (and only) time at the track I got a 15.9@88. This is with a really bad launch (2.8 60 ft. time) partly due to having cheapo tires that were nearly bald, but mostly due to complete inexperience. I also blew the 1-2 shift which didn't help either. With decent tires and a good run I might have been in the high 14's. I never got a chance to go back, but I'm hoping to make some runs once I get it running properly again.

I would suggest doing some plulls with a datalogging wideband. So much easier to tune with.

If by "right intake" he means ITB's, which also require a standalone, then 200hp is not really a problem, regardless of the series of motor. Now with a stock s4 intake, its probably not possible, regardless of what you do.

when i said it would be harder with an s4 it was soley because of the intake compared to the S5

And 200 wheel on just a streetport is not just a walk in the park NA, even with a standalone and radically different intake
