Newb Rx Owner, First time at track

So, I just sold my 94 sentra, and bought an 88 GTU, it has 173k on it, and has a couple cheap straight through mufflers with no cats. Other than that its stock.

I took her to the track for the first time a couple weeks ago and heres the results.

R/T: .886
60: N/A for some reason it didn't record it
330: 6.959
1/8: 10.824
MPH: 63.70
1000: 14.152
1/4: 16.949
MPH: 80.76

I was just wondering if thats a decent time for a pretty much stock GTU, or if I should be doing better. I had a lot of wheel hop off the line and I think i could have done a little better without the all the hop. Any way to fix the hop or is it just my driving?

just don't drop the clutch so much

pretty good times though I bet you could get it down to 16.5 without a problem

congrats on the buy though and don't let drag numbers get you down our cars are made to go around turns

Sounds almost identical to my time in a stock 89 GXL, first time at the strip too.
My 1/8 was 10.893 and my 1/4 was 16.962. Hella slow.
Hah, I found the video link. Recorded on a shitty digital camera.

That slip reminds me of my scion tC going down the 1/4 mile.

Just get used to your car, it's gotta get better.

Its an n/a rotary. Don't expect mind blowing #'s unless you've got a p-port or b-port and are nursing the bottle.
