just got a 87 rx7, 5 spd, silver, with red interior, 1.6k and 117k miles

the car seems to drive pretty nice, starts right up,

but i have a few questions

what rpm is it suppose to idle at? it idles around 650rpm, shouldnt it idle higher?

when i rev it, and when it drops from 1000rpm to 650rpm, there seems to be knocking from the passenger rear, what could i look for?

how can i tell if my 5th and 6th port is opening? which solenoid is it?

also, 2nd gear is louder compare to the other gears - is that ok?

 

i figured out the idle, got it at 800rpm, so much better... if i try to back the screw out more, it gets hard to turn.... should i keep going?

 

750 is normal idle rpm. i aim for "that area."
not sure about the knocking. sounds like its bad, though.
not sure about testing aux ports, honestly.

 

i think the knocking is from the metal banging or motor/transmission mounts?

how much are those???

oh, i backed out the screw on the throttl ebody all the way and th ehighest idle i could get is 750rpm???
