1/8 times and mods

just trying to get an idea of how fc's compare to other street driven cars....post your 1/8 mile times, list ur mods, and track slips/dynos are welcome too

Scott 89t2 08-16-03 02:02 AM

1/8 mile is pretty uncomon...

BDC ran a 7.6 @ 96 in his TII but I doubt you'd hit that :D

Mark'sMazda 08-16-03 11:27 AM

I ran a 9.1 @ 84mph, with crappy 205/60/15 bridgestone sp5000 tires.

SDrotary 08-16-03 12:15 PM

I ran a 9.8 at 75mph with my N/A ( stock port) mods listed below. When I ran the 93 R1 with DP, CB and intake it ran a best of 8.9. taking out a new mustang GT with ease..

pretty good #'s

adamlewis 08-16-03 02:05 PM

Before I had the Haltech and my only real "go fast" mods were RB turboback and a cone filter, I got an 8.6@85

chris-reedtn 08-17-03 01:23 PM

My friend richard ran 8.4 1/8th mile with my new setup, with major wheel spin thru 3rd,

1/4 mile times

What quarter mile times have you guys done? Has anyone here got into the 11's or 12's????

Do you think 12 second quarters are possible with the right setup and 200kw (280hp) at the wheels for a turboII???

$150FC 08-17-03 09:23 PM

hey, are you talking 280hp at the wheels in NZ or in the States? your dynos usually are a good bit lower than ours. I would say that your 280rwhp would probably be ~320 at the wheels, here.

And yes, that's good for an easy 12 second run on some good street tires, much less drag radials/slicks.

There are a bunch of us in the twelves, and (albeit not as many) some of us in the elevens.

welcome to the forum.

BDoty311 08-17-03 09:23 PM

Ive personally seen 11 sec passes for a TII, hell Im sure someone has gotten into the 9s before.

rx7newzealand 08-17-03 09:32 PM

Im talking 280hp in New Zealand which is around 200kw at the whees. I saw an old series 1 rx7 in a magazine that was putting out roughly 210kw at the wheels (New Zealand horsepower) and was doing 10 second passes

BDoty311 08-17-03 09:36 PM

Can someone explain why New Zealand has different HP ratings? I mean I know their wild life is different, but horse power? Did their horses take a different evolutionary path?

rx7newzealand 08-17-03 09:37 PM

so what mods have the guys done to get into the 12's?
I am getting a microtech ecu install and full dyno tuning done. According to the guys doing it they recon that I will easily have 200+ kw at the wheels (Already got 3 inch exhaust and air filter)

zinx 08-17-03 10:56 PM

My best time is a 9.8x in my 87 base, mods are downpipe, RB mufflers, K&N cone filter, removed emmissions.

eddierotary 08-18-03 04:30 PM

turbo II 1/4 miles times

what are the 1/4 mile times of a stock S4 and S5 turbo II? thanks

J-Rat 08-18-03 04:44 PM

Somewhere in the 'hood of 15.2.

But according to our omnipotent moderator Mr. Icemark, FCs arent drag cars, so dont worry about it....:)

Jarrett

J-Rat 08-18-03 04:48 PM

All that, and you didnt even answer the question.. Nice...

If you would have taken four seconds to type "Turbo 1/4 mile times" you would get this: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/search...by=&sortorder=

From there you would find this: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...2F4+mile+times only seven or eight posts down.

Please try the search function. It is there for a reason. :)

IceMark---try telling Abel and Ari that RX-7 don't make good drag cars...

razorback 08-18-03 06:51 PM

http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/2ndgen/arti...mt-0889-06.jpg

A S4 sans sunroof but with PS & AC ran a 14.9 @ 94mph in the hands of C&D.

Icemark 08-19-03 12:08 AM

lets make it easy for those lame people that can't search...

We'll combine all the 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile and all the other types of these threads and make it a sticky... would that make everyone happy...

I think it might have something to do with the altitude...

Lower the altitude, more dense the air, higher horse power...

J-Rat 08-19-03 04:10 PM

BTW, mods in my sig have gotten me a 14.7 at 94. But the strip I race at is at almost 5000 ft above sea level.

Oh I love the irony, of all the trash talking you do on non-turbo 7s about how slow they are, and you times are slower than mine and a handful of other non-turbos.

Sorry I just felt like pointing that out.

Ran a 14.6@97 with mods in sig. expcept for y-pipe, plug wires, and GXL hubs, wheels, LSD, Yoko tires.

Slammedblk7 08-19-03 10:20 PM

my friend tony(87GTR) ran his in the 1/8th with a 7.5 at 91mph

Actually, I dont mind, the run was only a "shake out" run, I didnt even drive aggressively. Problem was, after the first pass, we got rained out, so thats the only time I have to present. I dont lie about things. I assure you, my car is capable of a much faster time. Other factors to consider. At 8pm when the run was put down, it was 100 degrees at over 3000 ft MSL (5000 ft was mentioned earlier but was incorrect). I talk trash about N/As as a joke, cause it gets all you guys all teed off. But here is the official smack talk:

Run me at the same track, and you will not win.

Actually
200kw is 268hp
1 kiloWatt = 1.34102209 HP

BDC 08-20-03 02:50 PM

Several 7.60's at 96/97mph (almost 98mph) using NT-555R Nitto drag radials (my then street tires) on pump gas and full street trim. I will break 100mph soon.

A few time slips up on http://bdc.genxracing.com as well as a couple videos of one of them..

chris-reedtn 08-21-03 01:34 AM

I ran 13.6 quarter on a basic stock setup, the guy that i mentioned earlier ran 8.4 1/8th with 2.5 60ft, and burning the tires thru second adn somewhat smoking them in third. I plan to be in the 10's if not lower when im done putting all the parts i have on my car adn painting it, the mods are in the sig.

it's because some people are stupid and don't understand the difference between a KW and a HP

mattrx7N/A 08-22-03 01:22 PM

Back when my car was N/A I went 14.2 at 98mph with a 1.6 60ft (with 21" ET drags on) Had a weber and rb header and a completely gutted car wieghed 2160lbs.

West TX RX-7 08-25-03 08:30 AM

Supercharged Grand Prix ran a mid 14?? Wow, not bad. What elevation was the track?

Black13B 08-25-03 04:35 PM

GTP should be doing better than mid 14s.. not MUCH better but.. ;)

BDoty311 08-26-03 08:51 PM

hmm your guys r/t's suck i ran two 6's and a 564 last time i ran, and thats on a 500 tree
Ya well your auto drag car has a long way to go aswell.

FYI I've pulled a .508 before, so beat that.

Mark'sMazda 08-26-03 11:10 PM

my 1320 time was a 13.8 @ 102w/mods in sig. my 60-ft was 2.18

in my old S5 NA I ran a 16.0 at 89 mph. I had a 2.3 60ft mods were, cone air filter, racingbeat header/presilencer.

gsracer 08-27-03 06:24 PM
