did you drill a bleeder hole in the boost controller? I read that it was a very essential component of it's operation. hopefully mine will be running soon and I can report any boost creep problems if found with the $20 NXS mbc from ebay.

Yes, you have to vent the MBC with a .04 drill bit. after the ball spring valve. you may need to go bigger uo to .010 to allow full control without issues. start small and go larger as you feel you need it.

Also Carroll Shelby came up with Wastegate actuator restrictor which allows for faster spool up and full boost at a low 1500 rpm. they are hard to find and look like vaccum line connectors but they have a machined brass insert that keeps the wastgate shut longer, so the boost builds faster and spools up time is cut in half and then by 1/4 for each one after that I use 3 and hit a full 32 psi @ 2800 and 22 psi @ 1500 rpm....

If you buy the right stuff from home depot you wont need a drill a hole in the custom MBC.

Its simple.
THe hose that goes from the compressor to the actuator is split and a 3 way valve is installed.

When you open the valve.. it bleeds the air out-- therefor boosting more. 8$ boost controller form home depot.(icluds valve and hoses)
Used to do this on my old 86 300z turbo. from 6 to 13 psi.

bleeder mbcs are fine but they create a boost leak.
The lowe's brass tee mbc creates a much smaller boost leak or no boost leak at all if you do not drill a hole

a really small leak isn't a big deal, so many OEM ebc's operate by bleeding pressure out of the wastegate line and recirculating it back to the intake. That includes the s5 and FD factory boost control systems, as well as Evo and STi etc. In fact every OEM internal wastegate setup I've seen bleeds pressure except some of the 80s GM cars which actually have a 3 port solenoid like a Greddy or other EBC.

Wow this is EXACTLY what i wanted to see!!Thanks for sharing.. I am going with the same turbo but a more modified stup including high flow tb, fd manifold stup with S5 lower, S6 rotors, full standalone, and the motor is pinned as well. This gives me hope that i can hit the 350 whp mark and 300tq..

People listen without the vent. The pressure builds fast and thus opens the MBC & wastegate and makes spool up time terrible....just so you know. You want to bleed some off, then once you hit where you set the MBC it opens like normal..without the vent the car will be slower to spool up than it should be..my .02 cents.

Also the vent keeps the wastgate shut a little bit longer once, the MBC is opened and when it starts to open its very slow so you have no drops in boost pressure.

do what you like

I don't think I have a vent in the brass body but I do believe I have a vent in a little plastic tee that connects it to the waste gate. It's too cold for me to go and check now tho
