I believe it is actually good for running in new engines.

As long as you don't shift hard and be sure to simulate wind I can only imagine aiming for too high a number would be bad.

I would think, not any more stress that comes with hard driving, racing, etc.

if u cant afford to blow and engine, dont do it ... not worth the risk esp if u have some stock NA or something.. but personally I drive much harder on the street then doing single dyno pulls... as I think most people also... redline shifting redlinning again haha

Unless you are doing something stupid, running on the dyno is not stressful for the engine at all.

I always thought it was fairly stressful, because usually you dyno with a 4th gear pull at wot, which puts the most load on your engine, especially at the lower rpms.

If you look at a timing map, the areas with the most retarded timing are usually the areas with the most load = most stress on engine internals. Usually area where timing is retarded the most are low rpm, high boost

I think as long as you dont go wot at too low rpm (above ~3k), youll be alright. 3rd gear pull would be better for your engine, but people say the readings will not be as accurate.

i like to baby my TII, i try to stay out of full boost in 4th and 5th lol

Im sorry but this seems like a pretty stupid ?. I think that slamming through the gears at redline would be more stress than a DYNO. If your so worried than dont do it..................

i aint worried, i knoe its more stressfull because it is at a stable position, which means lees air into rediator, oil coolre, and intercooler.... and tranny vent.... the advantage you get from street smashin is the air resistance that benefits in cooling the car i say.....

There is a reason that the dyno operator places a huge fan at the mouth of the radiator air duct...

there is more load being put on your engine on the street, a dyno is not anymore harmful than racing

street racing is the same thing as a dyno pull, but if your feeling iffy about it then simply dont do it.
