12.4 @121 tires spinning

I headed to the strip Friday night for my first ever trip down the 1/4 in this car or otherwise. I ran on my street tires Toyo T1-S 255/40/17, at street tire pressure 37psi. The only change from my street driven setup was damping on the rear shocks. Overall I was pleased despite the fact that I was only able to run 3 times in the 4 hours that I was there.

The first run blew an intercooler hose on the 1-2 shift so that run was tossed.

My first full run down the strip resulted in:

60ft 2.1
1/8 8.2
MPH 97
1/4 12.41
MPH 121

I launched at 4500RPM and I short shifted 1st due to uncontrollable wheel spin. I then spun the tires all the way through second gear (~55MPH). I finished the run in 4th.

The last run I tried to reduce wheel spin off the line with a 4000RPM launch, which resulted in a HUGE bog.
60ft 2.6
1/8 8.6
MPH 95
1/4 13.0
MPH 119

The 60ft 1/8 and 1/4 were all 1/2 sec off my previous run, but the trap speeds were nearly the same. I managed to hold traction through second this time, which made a huge difference.

The best part? I wasn't even running full boost, so I was down probably 30-40HP.

Next time you will be running the E/T streets. With a good launch should be high 10's-low 11's. I can't wait to see it. If I would have known how shitty I was going to run I would have just let you use my slicks to begin with.

Keep it coming, you can trap higher than that with your power.

Hell, on high boost you might be able to trap 130. Wouldn't /that/ be some sheeit?

that is a sweet car, I'm guessing that it's not street legal? Or do you live where there's emissions

Damn I'm laying down 409 at the wheels and only posted a 13.2@ 110 /2.3 60'

Maybe 800-1000 lbs of stereo hurts me that much?

1000 lbs. of stereo? That's definitely not helping.

EDIT: Found some of them. To whoever asked, the best way to find them is go to the search function and hit find threads started by user. Here are a few good ones.

a 13.2 is AWFUL... I was hitting in that range on stock just about everything!
(3" exhaust, 3" intake, 14PSI boost, but mostly stock parts aside from that)

470HP!

wow... that's a lot of power

I'd think that 11's would certainly be possible

I ran a 13.940 at 3500 feet ASL with only a rb turbo back and an HKS PFC Fcon(and an FCD obviousely) but no boost controller...so I was peakin around 13psi with 10 constant...

Haha. Hadn't seen this in a while. To whomever asked, I do drive this car on the street. We do have emissions, but they aren't as strick as Cali for sure!! I've been driving it daily since Christmas and it's going great.

Here's a more recent picture of the car:
