12.1 @115 today at beaversprings dragway

well i took my TII to the track today and ran like a 14 with the street tires on then i threw the M/T's on it and pulled a 12.1 @ 115 with a 1.6 60ft!!!!! im gna post the time slip and some videos tomorrow. with brand new 255 45 17 street tires it still spun the shit out of them halfway down the track it was fuckin funny as hell just wait till ya see the vid... i was having a problem missing 3rd gear so its deffinatly a 11.5 sec car if everything went perfect but im happy for now with the 12.1 let me tell you what tho when i pulled that 1.6 60ft time it felt fuckin awesome it just felt like i got rear ended lol

Good job!

13bturbofc 04-01-08 07:06 AM

thanx

siguy2k 04-01-08 07:29 AM

What kind of suspension do you have and tires?

Comitatus 04-01-08 08:50 AM

What Mickey Thompson's are you running? What size are they and are they on FD wheels?

Nice times!

arghx 04-01-08 11:41 AM

What I don't understand is why there is such a difference in trap speeds on Rx-7's that have a similar amount of power. You are making approximately ~400 to the wheels. There are FD's on sequential twins running drag radials and making mid 300's who will trap over 120 with 11 second ET's. Maybe they have more weight reduction? You said in another thread your car is around 2800. That's hardly a heavy car, but for an Rx-7 it's not light.

I suspect it might have to do with suspension and tires or something. Or maybe some of those FD guys are just amazing drivers.

siguy2k 04-01-08 12:09 PM

Never mind just read what tires but what suspension do you have?

You should be able to open it with some other program and resave it as a JPG.

Edit: Can you download it as an attachment unto the forum?

they are M/T ET streets 26x10.5x16 on stock TII wheels. suspension is tokico blue shocks and eibach 1" drop springs and new poly mounts on entire chassis.

i dont really know but like i said i kept missing 3rd so i should be in the 11's..its funny tho cause my freind was there with me and he has an old honda hatch with a H22 N/A making 230 whp and he ran an 12.9 but that car weighs 2500lbs with him in it..so those fd's running 11's with only 300 hp have to very very light.

videos should be up tonite

13bturbofc 04-02-08 10:36 PM

well i finaly got two of the videos up!! the second one is kinda shitty quallity but its a nice launch.. the first one is funny as hell i burnt out halfway down the track and still caught that mustang at the end lol..enjoy

Good stuff. I can't believe how little traction you had against the 5.0. On what tires was that?

13bturbofc 04-03-08 03:42 PM

255/45/17 sumitomo htr's i know it dosent look like it in the vid but the funny thing is i still caught that mustang at the end of the track lol

sonick117x 04-03-08 04:11 PM

Haha I read in one of your earlier posts. Doesn't look like it from the nausea cam but I'm glad to hear it... poor v8.

13bturbofc 04-03-08 04:28 PM

lol that second mustang the blue one was pretty hooked up too you can hear the guy in the vid saying "thats ours the blue one" then he says something about nitrous... still got pwned lol

junito1 04-03-08 06:50 PM

Nice run witht he slicks and good time. Looks like it pulls damn hard on top end.

Explain to me what was going through your mind when you were about to take off on your street tires.....

LOL by the looks of it. I would say you thought you had your slicks on... haha

sonick117x 04-03-08 06:55 PM

..."Did I remember to shut off the stove? Did I lock the front door? What the fuck tires did I drive here on?"

2Lucky2tha7 04-03-08 07:24 PM

What part of lancaster do you live in?

13bturbofc 04-03-08 07:50 PM

lol i dont know what i was thinking but i know i thought it would hook up better then that.. usually a car hooks up better on the track well in this case the traction was alot worse then on the street for some reason..it was the first time having the car on the track so i didnt know what to expect..funny thing is at the end of the day i put the streets back on and my girlfreind wanted to make a pass.. she actually pulled a 13.3 with them on her first time ever drag racing lol..
i live kinda close to strasburg, bird in hand,gap..not far from exton

HAI-TEK7 04-03-08 08:10 PM

lol well i know where your coming from i wouldn't let any of the other girls ive been with drive it. but she is a really good driver i let her drive it on low boost at first around the streets and she got used to it so im pretty confident with her abilities. and she is also very aware of how much i love the car and how dead she would be if she wrecked it lol.. however the car was all over the place at the end of the track with the slicks on so i wouldn't let her drive it with them on.

2Lucky2tha7 04-03-08 08:38 PM

I was wondering because we got a few 2nd gens out my way. My 91 N/A (not exactly stock), my friends 88 TII that just got done, my other friend's 91 TII that I'm rebuilding yet again (RE setup), a guy up the street from me that has a street-ported 6-port turbo setup (To4b) that I built like 3 months ago, and my brother's widebody 1st gen that's being restored. (13B, 3mm, To4b, watercooled intercooler, microtech, etc.)

13bturbofc 04-03-08 08:45 PM

nice. we should meet up sometime. always down to meet some new rotary fans

sonick117x 04-04-08 12:44 AM

I guess you gotta build that trust sometime lol.. I just don't wanna read the story entitled 'Girlfriend Killed My Seven: An Eye for an Eye Tale'

...based on a true story.

13bturbofc 04-04-08 07:06 AM

lmao

codine7 04-04-08 03:41 PM

dont beat your self up on the traction. beaver has always been a sloppy track. head up to maple and try it their.

13bturbofc 04-04-08 06:11 PM

i still like beaver tho cause you dont have to wait an hour to get a run in.. when i put the slicks on i was really hooking up well so i cant complain

codine7 04-04-08 07:32 PM

you got that right. Ive already broken down while waiting in line at maple. plus beaver is cheaper to run on.

13bturbofc 04-04-08 07:46 PM

yeah when i go to beaver theres me and my freinds and like 20 other cars thats it. maple has like at least 100 cars every night. i was just told that they redid cecil county drag strip

codine7 04-05-08 01:26 AM

didnt hear that will have to check it out. thx

13bturbofc 04-10-08 07:22 PM

trying to get back out to the track but i smoked the clutch a couple times last time and its slippin a little bit. it dosent free rev but it wont grab gears and it feels really slow

Insomniac21772 04-23-08 02:43 PM

hey I was there watching that! that second video wasn't even the 12.1 was it?

Eric 05-06-08 05:58 AM

nice run man

Felix 05-12-08 09:27 AM

88rxn/a 05-13-08 11:55 AM
