752RWHP Street Car!

Hey guys. I went to a dyno shootout yesterday at PFSupercars and put down more power than prior. I was pleased considering how much abuse this motor has gone through since the summer.

It would have made more if my ecu didn't reset itself at the top of the run dumping a ton of fuel in. THis summer Im adding 2 more fuel injectors so I can run more boost. Right now Im out of injector so I can't run anymore boost. We should hit over 800rwhp with the new setup.

:shocking: what do you do when emmisions comes for you?

G's 3rd Gen 01-13-08 08:47 AM

Why did the boost fall off a bit then pick back up? Was that the fuel dump?

87 t-66 01-13-08 11:04 AM

damn, that sounds nasty :naughty:

ErnieT 01-13-08 01:13 PM

Not sure why the boost went up and down. It was only a few psi, but it would still loose about 20rwhp by doing that. I have an AVCR now, but will be going to the same boost controller Paul Efontis and other racers use. It was designed by Chris Rado, I believe.

I was at PF Supercars yesterday, and that dyno run was impressive.

Never met Ernie before, and he took the time to talk to everyone, and answer any questions we had.

Congrats:icon_tup:

i am so close, yet so far away...

once i get my intercooler and my thowout berring i will be on my way to pfs. i just dont know how long that will be :(

do you keep your fd there on display?

mdpalmer 01-18-08 12:23 PM

ECU reset itself? Yikes, that's not good. Why would that happen?

Is it just me, or does 700+ rwhorse seem a little excessive for a street car ;) Congrats on the numbers and car. Care to comment on how much the build cost?

yah, its way too much power to use on the street, but its great bragging rights :)

congrats ernie

all you need to make big hp #'s is a huge turbo @ about 30-34 psi, 4 160 lb injectors fed by the biggest fuel pump you can get your hands on and a good tuner, a bridgy helps too ;)
thats the short-short version
cost? a butload!!

zinx 01-18-08 01:29 PM

Very nice. Thats some insane amount of power? When are we going to see some low 9s?

mono4lamar 01-18-08 02:00 PM

What's the name of the new boost controller you're going to run? I was interested in getting the AVCR... If you know of a better unit I would like to follow in your footsteps.

Specter328 01-19-08 12:09 AM

I'm assuming its one of these: http://www.world-motorsports.com/wms...&products_id=1

GoodfellaFD3S 01-19-08 12:13 AM

Yup, that's the one that Rado designed. One bad mofo, and you'll know it every time you look at the receipt ;)

Turblown 01-19-08 12:15 AM

You ain't kidding. Shit I think If I was going to run 60psi I wouldn't even run a wastegate...

back in the day we used to race together in the street class (he ran his supra and really did daily drive it! on c16 too!!!) and party alot

that boost controller was years in the making, and is worth every penny, even if you have to pay retail
