would these wheels be damaged?

I have a chance for some "FREE" racing hart c5's(18x10's. The problem is the car that the wheels are on is burnt. The tires are still inflated but there crisp. Would these wheels be warped?? Is a engine bay fire hot enough to warp rims?? The wheels are pretty heavy so Im asuming there strong. what do you guys think?

If they are free, the only thing you would be spending is the time to check them out? Go for it, can't hurt to see.

I would agree with dclin. IMO they are probably ok. Even if they got hot, without any load on the tire I would think that they are still true. Easy to check.

I am no metalurgist, but it seems like the heat may make them brittle. I'd probably give them a try anyway for street use, though.

If the tire was melted then that would indicate serious heat. I'm sure someone can lookup at what temp rubber melts. I'm also not metalurgist.
