I took out my ABS so I only needs lines from the master cylinder to the calipers. I am in the process of bending 3/16" stainless brake lines but was wondering if braided lines would make my brake peddle too soft.

Actually, i think that stainless braided lines are supposed to make it firmer. With the rubber(or whatever) lines, they expand when the brake fluid is pushed through it because of it's stretchable nature. with the steel, it won't expand or flex and it should feel firmer.

right, but I'm replacing the lines in the engine bay which are metal lines in stock form. I was wondering if changing them to braided lines would keep that firm feeling

No they would not. Keep all the brake lines hard whenever possible. Would you mind telling why were you considering that anyway? Hard lines are cheaper and easier to make.

Well, I deleted my ABS. I was going to run stainless hardlines but braided lines only cost around $30 more so I was just considering it. Plus I wouldn't have to bend any lines or double flare them which are a pain in the ***
