Ive used nothing but 245/45-16 on stock wheels with stock springs/struts, lowered springs/stockstruts and coilovers. With NO rubbing. And no rolled fenders
Where do you people come up with this info???

are 245s the maximum you can get for the stock rims or can 255s fit also? I have heard of 255s fitting on stock fd rims but I forget if thats for the Japan spec ones like the rz . Thanks

Short answer: Yes.
long answer:
Allmost all 3rd gen's fith almost any combo of wheel/tire will rub the plastic fender liner in the right circumstance.. they're just small wheel wells. This will be worse with worn shocks/springs/mounts, lowering etc.... i've never seen one jacked up where you couldn't see some evidence of it on the plastic.
the 245/45/16 con stock wheel combo should really rub any more than the stock size really... its a little wider, but a little shorter... folks stuff alot more tire trhan that under there and live with it. You certainly won't need to roll the fenders unless you plan on driving up steep parking lot entrance transitions with the wheels cranked at 30 mph.
