Ive used nothing but 245/45-16 on stock wheels with stock springs/struts, lowered springs/stockstruts and coilovers. With NO rubbing. And no rolled fenders

I was basing this info on two of my friends FD's both run those tire size in the front and they both rubbed, but he should just check it out for himself maybe there was something wrong with my friends cars and that's why they rubbed in the front, not in the back though.

Sorry, if my info seem to be wrong but this was only based from my friends FD's

On my FD the old BFG Comp TA R-1 and the current Toyo Proxes RA-1 both worked for me in a 245/45-16 with stock wheels, stock fenders, and a slightly lower than stock ride height. No rubbing.

I also run 245/45/16 on my car, no rubbing with '93 touring suspension or Tein Flex coilovers.

are 245s the maximum you can get for the stock rims or can 255s fit also? I have heard of 255s fitting on stock fd rims but I forget if thats for the Japan spec ones like the rz . Thanks

I had asked this same questions a a while back too...Aparenlty 255 will fit but its not a good idea because it's a bit wider than an 8" wheel should handle...245 is not that much smaller and still a decent footprint for a stock wheeled FD...

My 245/45's on stock rims and suspension have never rubbed. 245's are about as big as you should go on an 8" rim. I believe that a 9" rim is actually ideal for a 245 tire.

Short answer: Yes.

long answer:
Allmost all 3rd gen's fith almost any combo of wheel/tire will rub the plastic fender liner in the right circumstance.. they're just small wheel wells. This will be worse with worn shocks/springs/mounts, lowering etc.... i've never seen one jacked up where you couldn't see some evidence of it on the plastic.

the 245/45/16 con stock wheel combo should really rub any more than the stock size really... its a little wider, but a little shorter... folks stuff alot more tire trhan that under there and live with it. You certainly won't need to roll the fenders unless you plan on driving up steep parking lot entrance transitions with the wheels cranked at 30 mph.
