Widest wheel on stock rear fenders?

Well, thanks to a member from this forum, I have found a reasonable priced wheel that is 18*11.5. I have been debating wheather to get Pettit fender flares and this wheels, or if the wheel fits then just keep it without flares.

I know it would look better with flares, but what is the widest wheel and tire one can fit with no rubbing issues. Thanks guys

Wyum has 17 x 11's on the back, but he had to tweak the trailing arms to get them to work. If I remember right he stuck 5mm spacer on one side and they were slightly rubbing on the outer rear fender. Hope this helps. Up front he has 17 x 10's...

if you can ge tthe right offset you can run 18X11 rears with the right tires and not have any rubbing problems.

You might have to roll the fenders depending on the offsets.

I sincerely doubt that an 18x11.5 wheel will fit, even with rolled fenders. Gene Felber runs 18x11 wheels in back and barely clears the aftermarket trailing arms -- and he had to CUT off the fender lip, not just roll it.

After looking at Wyum's car I don't think an 11.5" will work either. The 11's were a stretch.

You roll the inner lip of the fender, in, mostly needed on center of it, where the tire rubs the most.

You can do it with a baseball bat, aka "The BB Technique" , you insert the bat in between the tire and the fender, while pushing down the bat and pressing against the fender lip, it's good to have another person move the car few inches back and forth while you hold the bat tight against the tire and fender.

Very important to heat up the area where you're rolling so the paint doesn't crack.

Take the advise on the proccess from twinturbo93 and go with it. I tryed it out on a old parts car a while back just to see if I could do it before touching my turbo. Was a lot easier then it sounds and beats paying around $300 or more to have it done at a body shop.
