Wheels

Hello everyone, I'm a new owner of a white '94 Touring, completely stock, just wanted to say hi to everyone. My first question is what are the pros and cons of using larger tires rear and smaller front (example 265 rear, 235 front), or larger all around? (265/265) I know about the weight disadvantage, but how will it affect the handling? Thanks,
Craig

Running wider tires all around won't change handling balance, it should just increase grip. Running a staggered fitment, ie 235/40 18 up front, 265/35 18 in back, does induce some understeer in very tight corners but otherwise feels much better balanced -- it allows you to put the power down earlier out of a corner. If I was only driving the car on the street, I would run equal size wheels/tires all around, for both turn-in response in street driving and the ability to rotate tires.
