Wheels for 225/45-13

What size (width) wheels would these tires work on best? 7" 8" 9"??? Anyone?

Looking for an Auto-X setup for a 1st gen running Hoosiers...

personally I would recommend 8 inch width for 225...7 is too small, maybe too much sidewall flex..

Yeah, I've kinda ruled out 7".

you think 8" would keep them from stretching the sidewalls too much. Could 8" also handle a 235/45?

Nah I think 225 is ideal on a 8 inch rim...and yes Ive had 235's in a 8 with no issues...dont know about a 13" rims...but I dont see how that would change since the aspect ratio is figured against the width.
