Wheel size question
I am about to buy a set of rims for my FD, rear ones are 18x11.5 -9 and front ones 18x10.5 +3
How do this rims fit on the FD? Will they be able to mount?
I will go widebody but how much more then original rims will they stick out? I meenm, how many mm longer out will the rims edge be then the original ones?
Thanks!

unless you have a widebody kit on the car its really not worth it... the tire hitting against the wind when your driving is going to be insane... i mean, im not an expert on the matter but its going to be a safety issue as well as a cosmetic one.
to get your wheel size and your offsets and to see if they fit you need to check the tire your buying and if it would fit your wheelwell... i dont quite remember the 7's cause its been a while.
go to tirerack.com and it'll show you what actually fits on your car.

thanks for the tip..will check right away.
but I'm going to go widebody so thats aint the matter I just weant to know if they fit on the inside of the rim and how far out they will stick if you compare to a original rim.

Not sure about tirerack...
I don't know if you can actually trust the list of wheels that are deemed to fit at tirerack.com. I was looking at Motegi traklite and they don't show as available under the FD, however, their fitment in 17" is as close to stock as you could possibly get... There are other wheels there that have more "fitment issues" if I can call them such, that instead are listed under the FD....
Up to you.
Up to you.

But how will it be on the inside of the wheel? Will it fit there?
From where the wheel is mounted how far in will it go? As original, will it be to deep so it wont be able to mount it?

you will have more than an inch of wasted space (clearance) inside between the wheel and the suspension.
if an 18x10 +50 just clears the suspension.
then an 18x11 +38 just clears the suspension.
and an 18x12 +25 just clears the suspension.
roughly... specific wheels may differ because of wheel construction and variation between manufacturers... but you get the idea.
the wheels you are looking at are what would fit a widebody FC pretty well

yeah i know...they come from a widebody FC, but I want them on my widebody FD
You think its a bad thing to do to put those wheels on my FD?
how much wider then original rims are those?

10.5", +3 will tend to hit the front suspension unless we're talking coilovers that give you addional clearance or stretched tires.
11.5", -9 sticks out 1/2" farther out - more waste space on the inside.
Sorry for the tangent...

they are a bad fitment for FDs in my opinion, because the FD can fit so much tire under a stock fender, once you go widebody you can fit HUGE wide meats in there, might as well go for it with 11's /295s up front and 13's /335s out back
those wheels will clear the inside so you can use them.
in fact those might just barely fit a burnout kit'd FD with 255 fronts and 285 rears if you like that sort of tire-to-wheel sizing.

I'm not going to use a widebody kit...averything is going to be handmade.
the thing is that i dont want wider tire than 305 but I also want the distance between the wheels to be big so this kind of setup would be nice and I dont need spacers
roms of this size what is heavy and what is light...the rims I am looking at weight 9.5 kilograms, is that heavy or light?
