Unhappy Wheel Rub!!

I have Koni Adj. Shocks, and H&R springs. I just bought 18" SSR GT3 wheels. I am haveing a problem with the tire rubbing against my fender well. I tried tightening the shock, and rolling the fenders, but they still rub. What should I do? Should I go with a different suspension? Or should I put a lower profile tire on? Help this is really killing me!!

Just do the coilovers. You'll have adjustable height as well as stiffer spring rate.

Contact Ground Control: http://www.ground-control.com

They will cost $600 and will replace your springs (so you'll keep your Koni struts). Most people I've seen get the spring rates of 500 Front, 400 rear.

Before you start spending a bunch of money, I have a few questions:

*What spring perch on the Konis are you using? You should be using the highest perch, especially up front.

*What size/offset wheels did you buy, and what tire sizes are you running?

Yep. They'll be missing when you look into the wheel wells. How often do you stare into your wheel wells?

This option of course is done w/o cost. Or you can, as has been mentioned go, at an additional expense w/ the GC setup.

He didn't know the offset, but his front tires are 235/40/18 (from the thread above).

I don't look in there often but the purpose of the fender liner is not cosmetic, it's to keep the tire from throwing every piece of road debris it finds into your engine bay. Not to mention the plastic protects the chassis from the constant blast of road debris and so improves corrosion resistance. You'll also find your car a lot quieter with the fender liners in place, especially in the rain.

I didn't see an answer to my Koni spring perch question.

In any case, once you lower an FD, you should just accept that you are going to hit the fender liner occasionally. Running stiffer springs at a reasonable ride height will greatly reduce or eliminate the problem.
