There was/is a massive discussion in here that concludes that anodizing is bad for wheels. Anodizing actually weakens structural integrity and is not needed. Hang on I'll search for it.
Err, maybe not. The server is slow tonight, and I think it is buried in some massive thread like Jimlabs Eternal V-8 thread.

Volk Racing offers numerous models that are anodized. Can't imagine that it would weaken forged aluminum...I can say that my Volk anodized rims did not hold up well at all. After two months they started showing spots and surface contamination. After four months, they looked like absolute crap. Can't recommend anodized volks in any form.

I change my mind about my wheels as often as the wind blows. I'm currently wishing my Fikses were black-annodized, and, Fikse is decidedly unhelpful. They'd be happy to sell me new black ones though. With that attitude, I doubt I'd buy from them.
I'm not worried about the strength concerns, as Fikses come annodized if you want them that way. I was just wondering if anyone even does it, and if so, how much $$.
