Whats wrong with studless tires?

Everyone says when they see my car that I should change my tires.
When I bought my car it had Dunlop Graspic Winter tires allready fitted,(healthy amount of tread still left.)

I live in Tokyo where it only snows perhaps once or twice a year.

Do these tires have a bad repuation or more prone to problems?

Im wondering if I should keep these tires untill I ship it back to Australia.

Any advice..appreciated...

Good for snow. Not so good (low grip, probably noisy) otherwise.

winter snow tires are useless when there is no snow on the ground.

Snow tires have a very soft tread compound that stays soft at low temperatures. It gives the feel of "riding on pillows", with lots of tread squirm. Replace them with a set of performance tires and you'll immediately understand the difference.
