What's up with the low inventory!!!

What's the fricken deal? I finally save money and decide to buy some wheels and NOBODY has anything I want in stock! Everything is in Japan or on a boat somewhere! This sucks...

It depends on a number of things:

1) Where you purchase from. Not all companies stock items, meaning they do not have any inventory. Rather, they drop ship the item from the distributor to your door.
2) Your wheels (in this case) may be a rare or hardly purchased item. Therefore, it would not be wise to stock the item and just order on a case by case basis.

Pretty simple concept and it happens quite frequently.

I was looking at the Gram Lights. Volk has three of the four I want... a month to get the third if I prepay for all four... anybody know who might have one Gram Light in gunmetal 17X8.5?
I am not talking about distributors being out of stock, I am talking about the companies themselves.
I started out looking for Enkie RPM2's, but the 17X8 was in stock but 17X9's were on a boat somewhere... then I found the Gram lights but can only get the 3.
Its frustating...

Why 8.5 x 17 Gram Lights? Are the Gram Lights for an FD? If so, you can go 9 x 17, 40-mm offset all the way around with 255/40-17!

I think they only come in widths of 8.5 and 9.5 for the 57C's, the pros come in 8 and 9. Yes its for an FD. I thought 9.5 would rub in the front with the Eibachs...
