FRONT:
8-8.5" width: +36 to +38, (WITH FENDER ROLL), 235 to 245 width.
9 to 9.5" width: +40 to +42, (WITH FENDER ROLL), 255 to 275 width
10 to 10.5" width: +48 to +50, (WITH FENDER ROLL), 285 width.
REAR:
9" width: +36 to +38, 255 width
9.5" width : +38 to +42, 255 to 275 width.
10" width: +42, 265 to 285 width
10.5" width: +43, (WITH FENDER ROLL), 285 to 295 width
11" width: +48, (WITH FENDER TRIM), 295 to 305 width (depending on brand)
Anything more agressive might look nice on a web page with your car sitting still, but if you're going to drive it and want it to work right and not look foolish, there are where you want to be. PARTICULARLY with the front of these cars, "fitting perfectly flush" and "not rubbing" IS NOT POSSIBLE the way it is on some other cars. Trust me, and trust others who've owned them for years and have tried.

Damn, thanks for the info.
So wait, wouldnt (9" width: +36 to +38, 255 width) that be the same as (9" width: +50 with a 275 tire)????
Cause you figure since the offset is higher, you can compensate that for more tire width. Its also the same as lower offset with a skinnier tire correct?

Given that the measured exterior bead width of that P285/30 was 10.5" and the actual width of a wheel between the lip flanges is about 3/4" wider than the nominal rated width, the fit was damn near perfect. The fronts are P245s (bead was measured at 9.5") on 8.5" wheels. Again, damn near perfect, in my opinion.
I bought my tires first, measured their actual dimensions instead of going off the manufacturer's published specs, and then bought wheels that matched. Remember that even two tires from the same manufacturer but from different lines can vary considerably in actual dimensions, despite having the same P-metric size.
Aesthetically speaking, I don't like the rolled over shoulder of a tire that supposedly fits a wheel perfectly based solely on comparison of the nominal section width (Pxxx) to the nominal wheel width (like a P245 on a 9.5" wheel), but in reality looks far too narrow. I'd rather get a little more rubber on the road and protect the lip of the wheel a little better. Comparing section width to wheel width should be used as a guideline for matching, in my opinion... not as the rule.

I know but im trying to understand. Someone also said about people who put 285's on an 8 inch rim and those are getting more abuse than what im trying to use it for.
I know it might be too wide but will it work? Like will they blowout on me? I am not using this for performance, just for cosmetic reasons.
People also said 255's are not a good idea for the FD stockers and i have them in the rear with no problems. Going on 6 months now. Idk.

You have to take the aspect ratio into account when talking about width on a given rim. A 265/75 truck tire may fit fine on a 7.5-8 inch rim but a 265/35 ain't fitting too good on the same width wheel.
Yes, a 275-width tire will fit on a 9-inch rim with no safety issues (standard F-body and Cobra tire fitment). It is just not optimal for performance (or for looks IMO). As Jimlab pointed out, different manufacturers have different width tires in the same size. My 265/35 Toyos are not as wide as most other brand 265s, for example.
A little too wide for me on that rim width but it looks OK (IMO). It is within the acceptable range for some brands and BMW and Mercedes run that tire/wheel width all the time. I personally think a really wide 265 or a 275 is the perfect width for a 9.5 rim, performance wise and aesthetically.
Here's a skinny 265/35 on a 9.5 wheel....

just as others have said, 275s would be too much. if you wanted to bring the wheels more towards the fender, you can just add spacers. probably a 10mm on the rear (but you'll need extended studs) and a 5mm or so on the front?
and chalk up another for a 285 on a 9.5" wheel. ran 9.5+40 w/ 285/30 :o
