What tires should I get for my 87 T II?

Like I said, I have an 87 Turbo II, I need the best tires for I can get for about $450 or so, including the cost of having them mounted and balanced. I need some that will be fairly long lasting, and with GREAT wet traction/handling in the rain. What tires do y'all think I should go with? 205/55/16

A rteally good street tire for cheap is avon. You could probably step up to a 215 or a 225 depending on price for you. This is what Shagin wrx runs on his car on the street and says he loves them. I'll try to find a link for you.

EDIT: http://www.avontyresusa.com/tires/tech_m500.html <--- avon homepage

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....odel=Tech+M500 <--- sizing and pricing. Looks like you could get a set for a round 400 bucks then bring them somewhere to get them mounted up. Right in your price range too. Also definetly get the 225. And if your asking yourself why, it's because I F*%@ing SAID SO

I'd put some 225's on it personally. Tirerack.com

For performance tires try:
Toyo T1S
Excellend tire in dry even mo' better in the wet
You can also try the Kumho MX.

TireRack is a good resource for tire selection and differences between types of tires.

As for what size, I think it depends on what kind of power your car is outputting and what kind of driving you do and what rims you are using.

On stock rims with more than stock HP, I kinda liked having 205s front and 225s rear. This helps you put the power down better (less wheel spin). However, the car does have more understeer in slower corners with those sizes. Felt good in higher speed corners. I think 225s all around might be better, but I don't remember if it fits up front on stock rims.

Maybe search for FC tire size and see what you get.

Thanks for the input guys. I was told that I need to use 205/55's in the front or it would rub. Whats the largest size y'all have tries in the front without it rubbing?

oh yeah, Brendon... yes sir LOL

I run 215/45/17 at all 4 corners on my vert. No interference.
