What are stock JDM "Type-R" rims worth?
Hi,
I know a guy who has a of 4 rims and tires from his JDM FD, which he says is a "Type-R", sitting in his garage that he would consider selling. I didn't think there ever was a Type-R FD, in any case I included the closest pic I could find of the rims I'm talking about. I found tons of pics of the 99 spec rims but hardly any of this style. If I get a chance I'll get a pic of his actual wheels.
The tires are on the wheels are Potenza RE-01R 225/50-16 with about 1/8"-3/16" tread left; I just eyeballed them as I didn't have a measuring device with me when I looked at them.
He said he wanted $1600 CAD for everything, which seems pretty ridiculous to me for stock wheels (albeit JDM) and used tires. So what are these wheels and tires actually worth? Thanks!

What are they worth? What the buyer is prepared to pay.
Over here at least, in good condition, around 500 seems to be the going rate, tyres largely irrelevant - in run of the mill tyres. The 17s in the same style, bring more, but they'd be well shy of the 1600 figure.
