what is the offset needed for 17X8F and 17X10R on an FC?
running 225/40R17 in the front for now but maybe 235 or 245s in the future after i install the coilovers but i am currently running 285/40R17's in the rear, they fit but i still need to roll the fenders.
so the question is what is the perfect offset for this setup to fit an FC without wheel spacers as i am going to be looking for some new staggered wheels in the near future and i need some serious meat to keep the wheels planted.

you cant fit a 285 out back with some fender rolling and I mean ROLLING... but I guess it depends on the specific tire. you will need at least a +30 to clear the trailing arm and if you go to a +25 you will need to really roll those lips. a +25 fits nicely under 30mm rear overfenders with a 285 tire.
you can fit a 275 on a 17x10 +35 to +30 wheel just perfectly with barely any fender lip rolling.
up front you can run 17x8 with a +35 to +20 depending on tire choice, suspension setup, amount of negative camber and fender lip rolling. I think +30 is optimal.

I've seen pictures of 245/40/17's on 17x8's, 30mm offset in front without it hitting anything. You may have to get aggressive with fender rolling, but it seems that 30mm is the sweet spot up front for stock fenders.

with my Tein S-tech drop springs the widest tire that will fit up front is a 225/40R17 with perfect spacing but once i get the coilovers put on that will free up a lot of room between the tire and strut interference. 245's in front would be a definite help on the track.
i know there will be understeer issues with a larger tire in the back but with enough power that isn't such a big issue when autocrossing and on track you just have to know the limitations of the front end.

well i guess my car is a bit odd.
i picked up a set of 18X8.5F +35 with 245/35R18 tires and 18X9.5R +35 with 285/35R18 tires, the rears fit perfectly with no rolling of the fenders however the fronts should be about a +30 offset like you said to clear, i will need to roll the front fenders to fit those tires/wheels but no biggie. thanks for the help guys.
