look at the diameter on this thing....Where would i even go to get a strut insert with that much "gerth" The intended use is Rally. Not the rotary thought. but i just need to see if i can even build a suspension before i get into this obsession of mine....i just wanna know what you guys know from your hours of searching the internet.

Those would be inverted monotube dampers. You simply cannot have a shaft that large without having a large diameter body to go with it, there'd be no room for the piston and the oil. The shaft on those would be attached to the botton, protected by the strut body, and the damper body moves in and out of the strut body.

You can probably find some coilovers with inverted monotubes, but they aren't likely to be cheap, and if they are, they probably suck. I have never seen an inverted monotube insert before, so those are probably custom.
