this question would probably be better answered in the suspension/wheel/tire section.

moving thread there now...

you want really hard suspension so you can lose traction alot easier. negative camber is also your friend.

Yes like he said^. Any coilover will work cause they're all pretty stiff compared too a shock/spring combo, but it's reliability, the warranty, rebuilds, etc. that you have to worry about.

This guy has NO CLUE what he is talking about.

Anycoilover will work just fine.

Done be awed by nonsense like huge spring rates 9/6 works just find.

Check out KTS coilovers from splparts.com. $1100 shipped or stance coilovers. Tein is good too.

Actually, you don't even need a coilover suspension for drifting. You need talent first. Then after you got that, it would be helpful to have a stiff suspension - shocks, springs, bushings etc.

lol no 100% true.. you can have all the talent you want and not drift a car well because of the suspension... not saying its impossible but it helps alot.. drifting depends mostly on suspension... like they said any coilovers are great because you can ajust them to be stiffer/softer/ to get the right feel for the car.. if your cars going to be an all out drift car.. i suggest the Super drift suspension. Harder suspension tends to loose traction more than normal so you would have to setup to what you like not toooooo hard but not soft, when you get them just mess around with it

anything helps, but if you know how to drive, you don't need it. parts are not a replacement for skill.
there are actually a couple guys running in the nopi series who just have aftermarket shocks/springs. nothing fancy at all.

A good driver with skills will be able to drift anything AND look better than a dumbass driver with the $10,000 suspension.

werd. look at Nick Brogan. he drives a $100+k viper built by mopar, and he still sucks and has the slowest entry speeds of any other car.

not really iv seen videos of the drift king trying to drift a miata, yes he was drifting it but he spun out plenty of time to look like an intermidete or how ever you spell it.. all im saying is suspension could/will help. skill will be needed aswell.

like unicorn said Nick Hogan had his viper.. everthing possibly imagined done to it, and he still isnt good but hey you can have all the money in the world and buy everything for the car, but you cant buy skill

Stance for easy rebuilds good price and quality, silk road rma8's are good, tanabe pro 7's and tanabe dd's are good. Overall I think the stance are the best out there for guys in the states
