What do you think about chroming stock wheels?
Instead of buying new wheels, since I like the stock ones, I was thinking of having my FDs wheels chromed. I was wondering if any of you guys have had yours chromed, and if you think I should have mine done.

I had mine done right after I bought it, and I think it looks terrific! I used a place called East Coast Plating that does exchange, so the turn around time is less, and I think the web site was www.4chromewheels.com
They did a great job, and they are in Maryland, so you'll save $$ on freight!

I had my stock wheels chromed when I bought the car new back on 1/10/95 A few years ago, I switched to polished 17s. Here's some pics with the chromed stockers.

How did you get the center caps on the FD wheels in chrome? It's plastic and I tried to get them in chrome and the guy said it couldn't be done. Also, that FD is really sweet.

I think you can't perfume the pig so to speak. It makes an average, undersized, dated wheel, now a shiny, heavy, dated wheel.
But I gota admit the red one above looks pretty nice. Chrome on a sports car is ungood in my book.... Unless you have the Blitz 03's that have the centers dipped...

Actually the stock wheels are probably the lightest 8 x 16 inch wheel available @ 15 lbs each. Chrome-plating adds a lb...go ahead ask me how I know
My '93 R1 came with chrome stock wheels. I purchased "shiny" chrome-look centercaps from the dealer. It's a sweet look. The chrome finish didn't hold up well to road salt during the Indiana winters though.
I ended up selling the chrome stock wheel to some guy in Wichita KS...
FWIW I don't recommend chrome-finished wheels if you live in the snow-belt. Now polished wheels with clearcoat makes sense...
Anybody wanna sell his/her SSR Integral A2s in 9 x 17, 45-mm offset in high polished finish??
