Well I need tires sooner than I thought.
As I was doing Chinese deliveries tonight my car decided to do some crazy initial d action around a corner without my permission. I mean I was doing the speed limit I was obeying the rules of the road everything. It is just that balding All Season Firehawks on just short drizzled on road = no traction. Anyway I went and did a nice 180 around the corner much to the amazement of the Camry driver coming in the opposite direction. It was all very peaceful the car just kind of glided like the way you would imagine on ice. Anyway I turned around made the delivery said wow that was crazy. On the way back from the person's house however the car is making a weird ambient noise, a kind of wonwonwonwonwon but very slightly I figured it was feedback from the shitty stock stereo. I asked my brother, "Do you hear that?" "Hear what?" He responded so anyway I pull up to a stop sign. Go to make a left and I hear that dreaded sound! PFTHTHHHH!!! Hiss flapittyflappityflappity. I knew immediatley what had happened pulled into a driveway and popped on the donut. But the back right tire is dead.
Now for the real question. What tire is going to be good, will not drive awful in the rain, and not clean out my wallet? I was thinking of going with some Yoko's but I would like some input.
For a cheap set of tires all the way around. Not really cheap just not like 110 a tire. What should I look at and what are some good options?
Thanks for the input!!

PS. If this donut wasn't so skinny it would actually be a pretty pimpin' rim :P

The Toyo T1-S is an excellent tire that can be purchased at well below the cost of comparable quality tires. 205/55/16's are $106 each ........... way cheap!!

I would recommend Using the 225/50/16 Yokohama ES100 (82.00 each). i have a Porsche 944 and have been running them for over a year with no complaints at all. they have great traction in dry and wet and are still running quiet. The 225/50/16 Avon Tech M500 (77.00 each) has good dry traction and is quiet i thought they lacked wet traction when we were testing them.

Bridgestone RE750s. They are slightly more expensive than the es100s but score a lot better in performance tests and have a longer tread life. Read the tests and customer surveys posted on tirerack.com. I have found both to be valuable tools for selecting tires.

I just put a set of Toyo T-1S on my FD. Very pleased with the dry grip and thrilled that the 7 now is under contol even in heavy Houston rain. Quiet too. Much better than I expected. I got mine at onlinetires.com.

. cost 178 installed via less schwab which gives free tire rotations, inflations and replacements for the tire's warranty, which is 100,000 miles.
