well 275's fit

i got nitto 555 R II's in 275/40/17 for my 17x9.5 racing beat rims. needless to say it rubbed. nothing a little ghetto rolling of the fenders with a metal pipe couldn't fix i am going to have turbovr6's friends body shop do it professionally although it came out fine. i get a minor rub over a VERY large bump only. i like the nitto's as a street tire they handle pretty good and have decent traction i tried drag racing on them and it was *OK* i'm going to stick to my full race tires..... there are some pix available if anyone is interested

right now i have 225/45 and they rub on hard bumps in the front. the back was rubbing ON ANY BUMP. till we rolled the rear fenders. it is good about 97% of the time... i have to see when the body shop can squeeze me in to roll them for me and possibly flare the rear fenders a little

i got the rims used where would it say the offset on them ? once i have fenders rolled i bet i can fit 245/40 or 255/40 on the front

vosko, the offset is usually on a sticker somewhere inside the wheel rim. You could also measure the backspace, and derive the offset from the backspace in inches. You must know the overall width of the wheel for an accurate offset determination.
