volks on a 2nd gen

My buddies at autolink motorworks say that hey called a guys who ships rims for Volk can get me the bronze TE37's for $2000 He said that 17x8.5 in the front and 17x9.5 in the rear will fit. Is this true? and if do with what tires? I wasd thinking 315/35/17 in the rear and 245/40/17 in the front, and if not 315/35/17 in the rear tnah 275/40/17 is it possilbel on a 1990 GTU's?

Wheels will work, tires wont. you need some major spacing if you want to fit 315's on the back...

max you can really fit up front is 225's, and 255's on the back with close to the stock offset.

Get out your baseball bat and roll the fenders.
But 315 in the rear, you are crazy man.

You can get them cheaper here. By the way, those wheel sizes will not work with the given offsets on Volk wheels.

I would reccommend the 17,8 +38 and 17,9.5 +35. These are offsets from Volk. I only own FC's and have put an inumerable number of staggered fitments on them. Even when places said they couldn't be done. Sure you've all been there and done that. hehe. What do they know?

You will need to run a 225/45/17 and a 255/40/17 rear. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. You'll need to remove the heat shields around the muffler cans as well.

If you want to get them for less, PM me and I'll get them to you. Did you ask them if that includes centercaps and such. Those are always extra and rarely told unil you receive, unless getting from authorized distributors. They'll make sure to mention the caps.

THESE WHEELS ARE NOT IN STOCK BY MACKIN and will need to be special ordered. Expect 60 to 90 days.

I just think 8.5's are overboard because a 235/40 will fit just great on an 8", why add the extra 0.5" in metal to rotating mass.

I can see on an FD, because you can run some serious meat in the front, but on an FC I'd say go with a Front Fender kit to fit a 255, otherwise it's a waste and won't function any better.

I avoid rolling the fenders when I can and only if there's some serious functionality gained.
