Volk TE37SL Advice

Ok Ive scoured these forums for as much info as possible on a set of TE37SL's and I need some additional input, advice or comments. My 1995 FD is sitting on stock springs and shocks. I love these TE37SL wheels and was hoping not to have to roll or flare fenders, as I have a 90% stock 1995 car aside from a few bolt on reliability mods. The sales team at ravspec.com is suggesting a safe fitment of 18x9 +45 in front with 18x9.5 +40 in the rear. What I really love about these wheels is the concave look I've seen on some well fitted FD's. This will also be the the first major change I do to her so anything else I do will be built around these specs, such as coilovers. My first concern is that these specs will be to flat face ? My second concern will I be able to lower the car any if I choose to in the future? Should I go with 17's instead ? I do not plan on tracking it but I do plan on spirited driving, so performance is important to me. Thanks for any comments!

Click the tab where it says "Face Design"

This shows the three faces (concavity) available for 18" TE37 SLs

The sizes you are considering are the least concave.

Now go the the "Size * Price" tab and click that.

You could do stock body and the 2nd most concave face if you did 18x10 +40 and 255/35-18 tires. This would require around -2 deg front camber though to keep the tire from catching the front unrolled fender lip.

Whether you run 18" or 17" wheels doesn't matter for lowering.
A 255/40-17 tire and a 255/35-18 tire are both 25" diameter.
