volk te37s vs. le37s - differences?

from what i've gathered, it looks like the le37s have polished lips and the te37s don't. are there any other differences? perhaps strength, weight, distribution of weight, form, etc.?

what do the letters after the 37 mean anyway?

also, is it possibly (practically speaking) to actually get those 18 in volk te37 magnesium wheels that weigh like 12.9 lbs? they sound very expensive.

i'm looking for 18x9.5 (or 10) rears and 18x8.5 (or 9) for the fronts. still undecided if i want white wheels or gunmetal with polished lips. not sure what color the te37 mags mentioned above come in since they sound especially exclusive but i'd go with almost any color they come in if i could afford them!

thanks, guys!

Hello Neo,

How are you? Well the LE37 gunmetal is darker than a gunmetal TE for one. As for weight, paint will always be a little heavier than the straight anodized shotpeened finish of the TE's bronze and such. Oh yeah, LE's have the machined lip.

Other than that they should be the same.

Let me know. I hook you up. homie deal.

so let me get this straight. both the te37 and the le37 come in gun metal but the le37's gun metal is darker than the te37s gunmental. plus, the le37s come with the polished/machined lip, right? so the various colors are paint while the bronze is the original color of the metal? in other words, the bronze is the unpainted and thus somewhat "lighter?"

thanks, rishie.

Thats exactly what he's saying. Rishie knows his wheels, too. And........... (oh my what a segue)

Hey Rishie, will an 18x9 TE37 in bronze front witha +40mm offset fit the FD, and a 18x10.5 in the rear with a +45mm offset? In the rear there would be the M2 Competition toe links & trailing arms affording a little more room. So is this possible? Thank for your help, and anyone else who chimes in as well.

Also can you give me the wheels weigths on those wheels as well? Thanks again

Kai,

That's exactly what I've said. Except to clarify, Volk has two finishes, a painted one and an anodized one. The Bronze is an anodize.

The 9 will fit up front but depending on what size tire you want to run. I'm gonna be taking some measurements today that Manny and I discussed, comparing different section widths of different brand wheels. Once I do this we should be able to tell how the fitment will be.

Thanks, Rishie

Can someone post some pics of these rims and tell me if they are gold, bronze,or gun metal "because I cant tell the diffrence".
