Vert with 15" BBS Wheels has too much torque! - best tire for traction?

I will be getting a power adder for my 90 Vert that I suspect will cause some traction problems. I'm currently running BF Goodrich 205-60/15s. The tires are decent, but I imagine with the boost in torque, I'm going to have some traction issues.

What tires would you recommend I put on my 15" BBS wheels for maximum traction?

I'm not looking to switch wheels because the BBS look good and are extremely light. I won't be making assloads of torque but at least another 50 ft-lbs.

Thanks for the advice!

Kumho MX tires or Falken Azenis are some really good gripping tires without spending too much cashola. I know the 205/50R15 Azenis is actually a 215, its wider than other tire brands in the same 205/50 size.

It sucks but in 15" I dont think you'll see anything over 245 wide, so youre limited width wise when you stay with 15" wheels. I dont think you'll find a tire wider then 265 in 16" size. Its tough enough to get traction on something like an 8" wheel out back with a 265 tire and thats not even using the relatively skinny 'vert stock wheel. Some guys in here run a 275 out back on a perfectly offset 17x9 or 17x10 wheel and they still can spin 'em, even with new tires!

people routinely run 225's on the stock 15x6.5" BBS vert rim. AutoX champions do at least....

Toyo RA1 is a good sticky tire.... and it handles. Bridgestone S-03's are nice.... BFG KD's are sticky.... lots of options...

I've been very impressed with the wet and dry traction of the Kumho MX.

I think BBS vert rims are 5.5" wide if I remember correctly. I think I'm going to install the supercharger kit and see how it goes before I invest in new tires. 225/50-15s have a lot more options in "performance" tires.

the vert rims size are 15 X 6.5.

anyways, the azenis sports are actually 215's? i have those, and if you say that you're going to have 50lbs more torque, the azenis might not hold as good as you want. i have some wheel spin launching at 6k, guess it's not that bad. what more for you though? unless it's the lack of lsd that makes my tires spin a lot...

maybe you'll want 225/50/15. i think the bridgestone S-03's come in that size. you'll want a stiff sidewall if you're concerned about handling because 225's are already wide for a 6.5 wide wheel.
