tokico HP capped?

SOoooo

I got a new set of Tokico HP's and one of them has a cap over where the rod enters the strut housing. I test fitted my new Eibach pro-kit springs and they don't fit over the cap. Am I supposed to remove it? Is this a rebuilt strut? It came in the original box with paperwork and does not look to be used. This will be the first time I've ever replaced struts so advice is appreciated.

Also, I've heard that lowering the car requires adjustment to the bumpstops I'm not exactly clear on what that entails or if it will even be required. I would assume that even with the Eibachs that should offer a 0.8in drop I will probably actually raise the car because the old springs are so old and worn.

Thanks for your input guys.

ok...I'm also noticing a big gap between the strut rod and the bearing in the new Tokico strut mounts I got does the upper spring seat have a lip that slides in there to ride the bearing or what? you can see the cap on the strut and the gap in these (HUGE) PICS:

Mods please resize as necesary if these are a problem.

lol, you guys are no help on this one. Does anyone know where I can get the bushings that go in the rear strut assemblies? Do I have to go to the dealer?

OK...How about this one. Does anyone know of an aftermarket strut boot that comes with the bumpstop? Or must I burn MORE money at the dealership?
