Depends on who you talk to. IMO, no. The Koni yellow's are the best non-coilover shocks you can buy for the FD. I think they have the best balance out of what's available right now.

The common complaint about the Tokico's is that the settings are in-between the desired effect. The softer settings are too soft; the hardest settings are too stiff. And the middle settings do not have much effect. But, that's just word-of-mouth .... so, take it for what's it worth.

If you're heavy into auto-x/road racing, you'll want stiffer shocks. Koni yellow's are good, but there are better ones. The GAB Super R's are really good (I had them, but found them too stiff for everyday usage), and then the custom Aragosta's and so on will fit the bill. If you go the coilover route, the Koni Red's are very good as well as the Tein HA's.

But generally speaking, I wouldn't buy the Tokico's.

Tokicos are OK ONLY IF YOU RUNNING STOCK SPRINGS.

Go to a higher rate and they SUCK! With GC coil-over running 450lb front and 300lb rear, the KONIS are great! Much more compliant than the Tokicos. Note that at these spring rates, the car drives a drifting car as the shocks are so stiff.
