Offsets?

I've run 255/40-17, 245/40-17, and 235/40-17 on 17x8.5 +40 wheels up front. 255s rubbed fender lip, required rolling of lip. 235/40-17 or 245/40-17 is a better fit on 17x8.5 anyway.

I've run 275/40-17 on 17x9.5 +40 and 275/35-18 on 18x9.5 +45 in back. Rear fenders also rolled, plenty of clearance.

255/40-17 could be argued as a better fit on 9.5" wheel, and closer to stock diameter , not many tires available in 275/40-17 anyway.

I currently have 17x8.5 up front and 17x9.5 in the rear. I run 235's and 255's, respectively.
