which tires to get?

im looking at getting some new tires for my fc and need some advice. im running stock s5 t2 mesh wheels and tein flex coilovers. i was thinking about getting these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-225...QQcmdZViewItem

would that be a good size? im running stock fenders and dont want the wheels sticking out past them. is there another tire better for my application? im looking at spending about $500-$600 for everything (mounting, balancing, ect.). any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are you using the car for? Regular street driving, autocross, HPDE, drag? Percent of time?

I don't think those tires will cut it. They seem like all season tires

I'm getting good traction putting down 320-350 rwhp on 255 Kumho MX on the street

Just don't plan on driving it in the snow

Those tires will not have grip....do you need snow/cold weather traction? If not, you should be looking at very high performance dry or "summer" tires. I don't think 225s will fit up front on an FC with stock wheels (don't know for sure about that, I'm an FD guy).

But if 225/50s do fit all around, you should be looking at the Extreme or Maximum Performance tires at Tire Rack, along with the Falken RT-615.

For that size and price range, I would recommend:

Kumho ECSTA MX
Continental ContiSportContact 2
Pirelli P6000 (not a great rain tire)

I ran 225/50/16's on my FC with stock 16x7 rims and coilovers. I also ran 245/45/16 out back on stock rims which were really stretched.

If you want the best handling simply put 225/50/16's all around with a quality compound. ie summer/performance tire All Season radials are not really performance tires.
