which tires?

I was originally looking at the Dunlop Sport A2. I primarly drive the highway, about 80k ~50miles. These are an 'H' rated tires with a 70000km (50000mi) warrenty. http://www.spsporta2.com/

Then another salesman tried to talk me into getting the Dunlop SP 5000 tires. I don't know what the treadlife is but they are a 'Z' rated tire. http://www.dunloptire.com/products/t...=sp_sport_5000

My main concern in treadlife, I do moslty highway, but I do like to do some spirited driving which includes some fast cornering.

Will an H rated tire have enough sidewall regidity to take well to cornering? The A2 will alo be better in the rain. This is the 'wet coast' afterall I know the SP 5000s will fit the bill fine, but they are also more money :P $145 CAD for the A2's in a 205/55/16 and $185CAD for the SP 5000's

Another tire shop was trying to convince me to get Toyo Proxy FZ4's http://www.toyo.com/tires/index_frame.html

These were a 'V' rated tire in the size that I want. They were $175CAD.. but when I asked if he accepted cash he nodded So they will be a little cheaper.

Anyone have experience with any of these tires or manufacturers.

My car has Z rated Michelins on it right now but they are *REALLY* low. Will I regret going with an H rated tire on my t2?

Thanks

talk to brad at bcrx7, he should be able to get you the toyos for around $130. the 5000's are great rain tires too. the other tire I'd look at for rain is the kumho vista 712, should be around $100, maybe a bit more. very good for the $$. only downside is no warrenty.

I just put the SP SPORT A2 on my car yesterday. $510CDN in total. I initially had 32psi of air in it. Drove it around, feels like jello. Inflate to 34psi. Alittle bit better, but sill jello. Pump up to 38psi, about rite, but still not as good as my Michellin XGT V4. The SP Sport A2 is H rated and XGT is V rated, so I guess the side wall would be softer. The tire overall is good, but the sidewalls are a little soft.

The Toyo Proxes FZ4 are a great all season tire, but they're only decent in light snow. I've had them on 3 cars with no complaints. They handle very well, and they last a long time.

I use Dunlop SP8000, they're pretty reasonably priced, hook very good, have a Z rating and a 220 treadware rating. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I've had them, and they're very good. The Summitomo HTR Z's are the same thing and a little cheaper. I liked the SP 8000's better than the SP 9000's I have now.
