tire size vs. power q?

im taking the engine out of a turbo II for my datsun the engine is making 487 hp with race fuel at 22psi and 390hp at 15.5psi. on 93 octane. i have a 71' datsun 1200 project car and i can fit up to 26"x8.5 or 9" on 15"x8" weld's M/T ET-drag do i have sufficient tire for that kind of power?

My '69 Camaro was putting out about 430 hp before i switched engines and the previous owner used 26x11.5x15's...they worked just fine. But the Camaro's a much heavier car. You may need more tire since you don't have the weight over the wheels the camaro does...but then again you don't have the torque either. You could try your size, and it'd probably be fine for the 390hp, but i'd go no less than 10" wide @ 26" for more than 450hp. Bigger is (almost) always better. Go as big as you can. If it's not enough, at least you can figure out how to get more tire under there.

But then again, i've never drag raced a rotary, so my suggestion may not be the best.

what will the weight of the car be and the torque

the car wieghs in at 2,234lb with me inside , the car on 93 octane has 332ft/lb of torque from 4,700RPM to about 6,500RPM throug that power band it fluctuates +-7-10 ft/lb
