In nned for some new tires. I was doing some searching and didnt find much. Just wonder what some of the vert guys are running on the stock rims. Something good for daily driving but has some grip.

I'm using Yokohama Avid H4S. They're pretty good in the dry and wet (not so much on snow), and Tirerack has a pretty good price on them currently.

it's actually on your preference... i could tell you to get Nitto's coz they work for me, but different people have different tastes.

try going to your local tire shop and shop around that might help you out a lil bit.

Falken Azenis RT-615s. Possibly the best street tire. Ever.

I'm running the Firestone Firehawk GT-H, and honestly, I think for the price it is one of the best tires out there. Great dry, wet, and decent snow traction, plus they wear very good. I got mine for about $50/tire.

How sensitive are you to noise? How long do you want them to last? Any track days or autocrossing planned? Stock size or maybe a 225/50/15? What's your budget? Are all-seasons required? A better solution is to have winter wheels and tires, then summer wheels and tires, all-seasons are jacks of all trades, masters of none.

Look at the Tire Rack, they do qualitative and quantitative testing, and there's tons of user reviews. It's a good place to start, but they don't carry all brands of tires.

For the price, for autocross, then maybe yes. For other things then no. Not the longest wearing, prone to overheating and getting greasy on track, not the best wet performance ever.

There is no perfect tire.

All tires get greasy when they heat up.

You don't buy a performance tire with street longevity in mind.

Prone to overheating? Stop driving like ***.

They do fine in the wet for me. I don't know where you're coming from.

There's lots of race and street tires that are much less prone to overheating when used on TRACK, where Azenis commonly overheat with good drivers, it's not a matter of driving poorly. Many others won't ever get greasy on track if you're not completely overdriving them.

Say what you will. I firmly believe that Azenis RT-615s are the best street tire you can get for performance driving.

He said they get overheated and greasy on the track, which is true. (I'm on my 2nd set of RT615s) Many, many people have had that experience. Look at autocross classes like STS2, and most folks have to spray cool their Azenis between runs. However, they won't overheat on the street.

They do OK in the wet, but they're not great rain tires. If you can tolerate the harsh, noisy ride and the short tread life, they're great street tires and mediocre track tires.

Noisy? They're more quiet than my Dunlop SP 5000's were...and those tried to kill me!

Harsh ride? Eh...I only half agree with that.

They're not wearing nearly as fast as I expected them too.
