Get one of these:

http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=822

Makes it very easy. Use some blue loctite on the threads and torque to 40ft-lb or so. Get new washers from the dealer and install per the FSM.

I did on my FC.
I had to grind down an open end wrench (box wrench) to fit it into the small width space on the inner tie rod hex but it was an easy job. I cut the old boots to remove them and lubed up the new ones to slip them over the tierod. make sure you use the correct boot for the correct side as they are different lengths and you have to cut (ruin) them to remove them if you choose poorly, lol, ask me how I know.

very easy stuff.

the hardest part is popping the tie rod end out of the knuckle

easiest way to do it is bang the hell out of the knuckle around the tie rod end.
the vibrations apparently shake it loose.
then hit it over the top with a hammer and it should pop right out.

I changed them this afternoon, no Vice, no pullers just good old ingenuity lol

I bought completely new replacements already fitted with boots and already greased so it was just a simple out with the old in with the new job.

No problems getting them off, brute force seems to do the job haha.

Cheers matt.

Yeah, brute force via a rubber mallet go a long way with suspension work.
