Thinking of powder coating. . .pics?
Hey guys, I just bought a set of JDM 17" wheels for my FD and I still have the stockers.
I am thinking of having one of the two sets powder coated a different color.
I did a search and came up with a couple threads, but what I couldn't find was any RED FD's with diff. colored powder coated stock rims.
Any pics you guys might have would be helpful and much apperciated, and/or any suggestions(i.e. color, method. . .) too!
Thanks guys
Justus

I have some stock FD wheels that I powder coated Gun Metal for use with track tires. Here are a few links to some pictures of the wheels on and off the car:

(under RX-7 Focus Day 11-30-02 click on DD)

I'd highly reccomend powder coating, as it looks great, and is REALLY durable.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions

I got the "buddy" deal on my wheels, (free) since my Father-in-law is good friends with the owner of the shop that did the powder coating, but he estimates about $50-$60 per wheel. I had my wheels sand blasted down to the bare aluminum, powder coated, baked, and then powder coated with a clear gloss, and then baked again.
I would definitely have them sand blasted, but the clear gloss coat is probably not necessary. But they sure do shine, and have a real deep gloss to them after the clear!
