Please do a search for "iforged"...you will turn up tons of threads.

That is a LOT of money for wheels, and if I was looking at a budget like that, I would be talking to Kinesis or Fikse. Hell, CCW or Volk make great and light forged wheels for a lot less than that.

There are a lot of unhappy iForged BMW owners. They will never get any of my money. IMO, if you are going to spend that kind of money, there are better companies to give your (hard) earned money to (like rynberg already mentioned).

For a custom wheel, I would be going to Jline first, but keep in mind none of those are going to be "light".

If youre serious about buying these wheels, post up the sizes and offsets so we could at least tell you if they fit first

A set of Work Meister S1's would be less expensive, look better (IMO) and are probably just as light weight.

$2816 for a set of 18 X 10's from Rishie...a fellow RX-7 enthusiast and resident wheel guru.

No way will that fit up front without widebody. The rear will have to be rolled as well.

Where in the world did you get $2816 for a set of 18x10 from? Thats false info, they retail for much more than that

If you would have searched, you would have seen several posts questioning the quality, wheel model doesn't matter in that case.

Those wheels won't even fit with rolled fenders up front. You would need wider fronts and rolled rears.

I bought my 3pc Meisters through Rishie... granted I got the full polished faces, if you include shipping from Japan (which is not part of the price listed) they will retail for a little less than a grand a piece... Rishie gives great deals on Works but anybody looking for wheels should contact him for more exact prices

I haven't actually ordered a set of Meisters, but I doubt Rishie or anyone else would charge almost 1200 bucks for shipping, from anywhere.

I used to have I-Forged wheels on my 350z and they were great. I never had a problem with them. The problems that people mostly talk about was a few years ago when they used a diffrent clear coat. My I-Forged were the best wheels I have owned yet. When I find my new RX7 I will buy another set for it.

Too much rotating weight, and depending on the rolling diameter you'll slow the car down by making your final drive numerically smaller. Keep in mind it's not just the rims that will be heavier, also the tires. I'd wager going from those rims to stock rims and tires would be like gaining 50 rwhp around town, in the lower gears.

That tire choice is ok for the rear, not for the front.

And of course this is based on what the car is going to be used for (i.e. street versus track)? On a street car, I would assume this wouldn't matter as much.

wptrx7,

It comes down to what you are after. Are you after performance, or are you after looks? Each one will have different requirements to fulfill the need, then you just find the wheel which fills the requirements.

The main downside to 19's on the street is going to be the tiny sidewall of the tires. Depending on the road conditions in your area, you will receive a ton of curb rash since you won't have much sidewall (as well as a harsher ride).

On the street, there is a noticeable difference in rolling acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear between my stock rims and my 17 inch Fikses. I'd imagine with 19 inchers the difference would be even more pronounced.

If all you were trying to do is remove some wheel gap, getting larger rims doesn't change that since your overall diameter stays the same (i.e. larger rims, smaller sidewall). You need a suspension change to effect the wheel gap.
