Are these wheels in good condition

Im deciding whether or not i will post a thread in the bad guy section, this certain member told me these wheels were in "very good condition", personally i dont think they warrant a very good description. Just wanted to see what you guys thought, i paid $2000 for them, but still to a college student thats ALOT of money. I sent him 4 pms with pictures of the damage, and he never responded
wheel 1

also on wheel one, circled the chip

wheel 2

pops showing the length of one of the curb rashes

Their are some light scratches on the lip but i can easily polish them out, so am I being to picky or should i make a thread in the bad guy section? I thought it would of been fair for him to pay 1/2 of what it costs to fix the curb rash. Speaking of which anyone have any idea how much it typically costs to repair curb rash?
Thanks guys

Did you get pictures of the wheels before buying them? The reason I ask is that "very good condition" may mean different thing to different people. I don't think that's horrible, but I would call them "good" in the sense they aren't bent and most of the finish looks good. The curb rash is pretty bad though.

Looks like you only got pics of the non-curb rash rim.

Now, don't use this as an excuse to post about the guy in the GG/BG section, but I wouldn't pay $2000 for rims with curb rash like that. That's just me though. The real question you need to ask yourself would you have paid $2000 for those wheels had you seen the curb rash up front?

If your answer is no, then I would say you do have a bone to pick with the seller.

I don't see how those could be called "very good condition" by anyone....and it's clear he hid the rashes in those pics. If I paid for those wheels, I would post a thread in the good guy/bad guy section (if the seller was not responding to PMs as in your case).

I wouldn't pay $2,000 for a used set of wheels like that.

$2000 for a used set?? college must not be educating you much. $2000 can buy you a new set of almost anything.

you can see the curb rash in the last 2 pics and the lil scratch on the second one, but only if you were meticulous or knew that they were there. i definitely wouldnt call them very good.

Not quite. Have you seen how much a nice set of Works or Fikse wheels go for? $2000 is a fair price for these wheels used, but NOT if they have curb rash like this...

To the OP: Take the wheels to a wheel repair shop in your area and have them fix the lips. It will cost a little money but I'll bet they can do it. Then contact the seller and ask him to refund you all or a portion of the bill (what you think is fair). If you get no response, or the seller refuses to give anything back, then you should definitely let everyone on the forum know.

Good luck, and nice taste in wheels

I'd agree the seller is a turd. He knew of the damage but was careful to ensure the pics weren't revealing. Add that to the fact that now that he has your money he won't speak to you and he's a turd.

But I also have to agree with Mahjik here.

They are advan Sienna Generation 2 wheels, very rare three piece wheels, and i believe retailed at around 800 or 900 a wheel. The problem is the seller is a very well respected member on here, so i feel like i am damaging his reputation, but i wouldnt of bought them knowing that condition, has i had a set that was actually in very good condition lined up for 400 more.

Well, since you use his pictures above, and the link has his username in it....

I would suggest starting with what stokedxiv suggested. If they can be repaired and for $400 or less, then you are still in good shape. If it's going to cost more than that, I would *ask* the seller to refund half of the repair costs. If the seller says no, then *I* would post in the GG/BG section.

Found the thread where it was mentioned they are 19"...

Z-Roc sells some very nice stuff, and most of his stuff are in a lot better condition than the pics you posted.

Original seller.

Yes, both are easily over what you paid for.

BTW, I don't find this model particularly rare.
I personally don't care for mesh type designs, but I do come across them prety regularly when I peruse Takumi Project, Wheelchoice, etc.

You seem to have really wanted this particular wheel. In that case, I would check with a wheel repair shop before going too crazy. Find out what they can do for you and then go from there.

I would wait and see what the repair costs are going to be like I mentioned earlier. If you are $400 or under, then IMO you are 'ok'; not great as you would have liked to not bother with the repair part. But if you are $400 or over, then I would be contacting the original seller about paying half the repair costs.

In my experiences, a good wheel repair should be able to repair those wheels to like new condition. I paid $125 to have one of my OZ's repaired after a guy cut me off into a curb.

As far as the "like new condition," it's obvious that he went out of his way to deceive you as to the condition of all the wheels.
